Samurai Jack - Season 2 ...

Samurai Jack is an American animated television series created by animator Genndy Tartakovsky that aired on Cartoon Network from August 10, 2001,[1] to September 25, 2004.[2] The series follows a feudal Japanese prince trained to be a samurai warrior, who tries to destroy the supernatural evil being Aku to protect his homeland but is teleported into a distant future where Aku rules the world. The young man adopts the name "Jack" after an encounter with the youth of the future, and he embarks on a perpetual quest to return to his own time and undo Aku's tyranny.

Samurai Jack - Season 2 ...

The first four seasons are available on Region 1 DVD.[5][6][7][8][9] A compilation featuring the first three episodes was released as a stand-alone movie titled Samurai Jack: The Premiere Movie on VHS and DVD on March 19, 2002.[10][11][12]

All episodes are identified in the credits by Roman numerals, which correspond to the total number of episodes released until the fifth season, which adds 40 to the number of the Season 4 finale, LII (52), to start the numeration of its episodes at XCII (92) (like there were 39 episodes left out, and it represents 3 more seasons with 13 episodes each) and reflect the long passage of time between Season 4 and Season 5. All episodes from the first four seasons also have an alternate, more descriptive title.

Without offering a set number of seasons, Tartakovsky said that his plan is to turn Primal into an anthology series, eventually. He compared the show to the sci-fi anthology film Heavy Metal as a potential blueprint for how to expand Primal beyond its current form.

Genndy Tartakovsky has earned his spot as a legendary animator for his decades of work in the field, with Samurai Jack, Dexter's Laboratory, and Sym-bionic Titan. With Primal's second season coming to an end, so to has the story following Spear and Fang, with the creator taking the opportunity to dive further into the finale and explore how Samurai Jack's ending had a big impact as to how the prehistoric epic came to a close and what this means for the Adult Swim series' future.

"After Samurai Jack and the way we ended the last season, I got a lot of flack for not giving Jack a happy ending. In my mind, he's a samurai, that's his lot in life. We can't just all be happy. For this, going into it, I had an idea of where I wanted it to go. The whole scope of the series is about [Spear's] evolution. He's kind of like the last caveman, the last Neanderthal. So his evolution, in a way, is continuing his family."

While the third season for Primal hasn't been confirmed, Tartakovsky has remained adamant that Spear and Fang's story has ended, with the animator stating that he is hoping to create a more anthology-style to the animated series should it return to Adult Swim.

The finale was almost exactly what I wanted. Resolve, a coming together of all of the seasons and characters that we loved, and a bittersweet ending. We even finally got to see the original intro for one last time. That moment is when I began to get emotional about the series finally coming to a close.
